Associate Designer, XDefiant, Ubisoft Entertainment

​Since May of 2024, I've been working full time as a designer on the free to play FPS XDefiant. My responsibilities have primarily  been focused on the design, prototyping, and implementation of an upcoming faction that is currently unannounced. I've worked with my fellow designers to create and implement the abilities of this faction and evaluate their impact on the meta of the game and their appeal to players. I also have worked on balancing and bug fixing for the currently released Highwaymen faction and a second upcoming unannounced faction. In addition, I have been responsible for documentation regarding all three of these faction, and the improvement of on boarding documentation for new hires, and have assisted in the creation of new tools for use in rapid prototyping of future content.

XDefiant Internships

During my 2021, 2022, and 2023 summer internships at Ubisoft Entertainment, I was responsible for assisting in global weapon and attachment balancing decisions and implementing specific changes and features for the m16, m1911, and 93r, as well as attachments in the optics and barrel category for sniper and assault rifles, along with balance tuning any upcoming weapons and attachments. Changes included damage, rate of fire, range, ammo, available attachments, aim speed, movement speed, recoil, and unlock level. I also worked on ability design and conceptualization of an upcoming faction, and the design of an upcoming weapon, both of which will be added to the game post launch, as well as the testing and refinement of a new upcoming gamemode. Because XDefiant is still in active development, I am currently unable to show the actual materials I worked with, however many of the items I worked on are showcased in promotional materials for the game.
